I remember reading about iron in teeth elsewhere - maybe it was komodo dragons? Or beavers.

Anyway I feel like I'm reading I snippet of T Kingfisher horror here so thank you!

aaaaa omg thank you, that's easily a top 10 lifetime compliment for me! (Possibly only eclipsed by Ms. 5yo telling me "your arms are getting fat", which felt the purest ever compliment on my efforts to get swole)

(Both komodo dragons and beavers can have iron-coated teeth too, yeah! And the gumboot chiton's s/tongue/radula "has many tiny teeth capped with magnetite, an iron mineral harder than stainless steel.
